We are looking for a full-time permanent Senior Backend Engineer (m/f/d) Python for the EdTech Engineering department in Berlin as soon as possible.

Your tasks

In collaboration with your Scrum team, you develop and automate business and AI processes with Python
You create new microservices with state-of-the-art frameworks such as FastAPI
You optimize performance through concurrent programming and application profiling
Working closely with our AI engineers to develop solutions for existing business problems
Together with a multidisciplinary team, you will work in an iterative and self-organized manner
You will take part in a wide range of projects and familiarize yourself with new technologies in this context

Your profile

You have sound experience with Python in complex software projects
You are experienced in operating and developing applications in production environments with Python, REST services and frameworks such as FastAPI, Flask or Django
You have a strong understanding of best practices in software development
You have already gained experience with various database technologies, including ORM and database migrations, and have knowledge of working with large data sets and data pipelines
You are familiar with CI/CD pipelines (GitLab), Docker and Kubernetes
You are confident in dealing with common cloud providers such as AWS, Azure or OTC
Ideally, you have some experience with integrating machine learning libraries into backend services and can design and implement modules that can be integrated into larger applications
Initial contact with vector databases such as Pinecone, Milvus, pgvector or Elasticsearch is also an advantage, but not a must-have
